The Presbyterian Church has a strong history in Oklahoma and was active when this was Indian Territory.  This involvement was a part of the mission outreach of the Presbyterian Church.  The Cherokee Mission survives us today as Dwight Mission (near Sallisaw, Oklahoma) and is used as a church camp for our Presbytery.

The PC (USA) church uses the bible as its basis for what we believe.  This is supplemented by the Book of Confessions which has documents adopted by the church such as the Apostles' Creed.  The third major document is the Book of Order which covers the polity of the church.  Both the Book of Confessions and the Book of Order make up the constitution of the church.

For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God.
Colossians 1:9-10
