EQUIPPING OUR PEOPLE

Many of you have questions regarding the changes to the Book of Order, as well as changes to the ordination standards that were adopted by PC(USA) this past summer.

The Resourcing Congregations Committee of Eastern Oklahoma Presbytery has invited Rev. Paul Hooker, a member of the task force that authored the changes, to come and speak about the new Form of Government.  Rev. Hooker will have a two hour presentation to share, which includes the theology behind the changes, as well as some Q&A time.

In addition, a separate session has been scheduled called "Q&A on 10A" with our General Presbytery, Greg Coulter, to specifically address questions and concerns about the changes to the ordination standards.

This presentation is scheduled for Saturday, February 11th, 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., at the John Calvin Presbyterian Church, 8181 E. 31st Street, Tulsa.

Although there is no cost to attend, you must register so that we know how many people to prepare for.  Registration forms are available in the church office.

This event is also providing an opportunity for training for church leaders, and we are encouraging all of you (past, present, and future - meaning everyone) to come and participate in the workshops available during the day.  Lunch will be provided.

Pre-service music begins at noon; worship service is from 12:15-12:45 p.m.

A light lunch will be available beginning at 11:30 a.m. and will be served after the service as well.  A nursery will be provided.
