Nothing brings global mission closer to home than having that personal
connection with those involved in the mission field.  Three of our Presbyterian
Women's circles are named for active missionaries.  These missionaries correspond with women in the circles and come to Bartlesville to visit when in the United States on furlough.

Rev. Alice Winters teaches Bible and biblical languages in the School of
Theology of the Reformed University of Colombia.  In response to the increasing
violence in Colombia, Alice, along with others in the Presbyterian Church of
Colombia, has become involved in the struggle for human rights.

Sue Ellen Hall serves in Khartoum, Sudan with the Sudan Presbyterian
Evangelical Church.  She trains teachers of English as a foreign language.

"Often, just when you're having doubts about where you are and why you're
struggling along at a less-than-perfect job with less-than-perfect people in an
arid land which seems to be getting things wrong as often as it does right, God
blesses you."  Her comment was about a graduation ceremony taking place.

Cynthia Morgan and her husband Leslie have been serving in Bangladesh since
1989.  Both are doctors and they are stationed at Christian Mission Hospital in
Rajshahi.  Cynthia says, "Because of your support, I am able to be here as a
Presbyterian medical missionary to witness how profoundly this ministry is
affecting the lives of many young people."

Debbie Chase is the Dean of Studies and Lecturer at Livingstonia Theological
College in Edwendeni, Malawi.  "Our life has been filled with showers of
blessing amidst deep poverty."  Rev. Chase works to open doors for women in Malawi to be ordained as ministers.  Her ministry is a direct result of the
partnership between the Presbytery of Eastern Oklahoma and The Synod of Livingstonia.
